How much does a bail bond cost?
Bail Bond Premiums
The cost for a Bail Bond is based on a percentage of the total bail amount, typically 10%. For example, if someone tells you their bail amount is $10,000 the cost for a bail bond is usually $1,000. The $1,000 premium is fully earned by the bail bond company when the person is released from jail on the bail bond. The bail bond premium is non-refundable unless a judge or the Department of Insurance orders the bail agent to return all or part of the bail bond premium if it is determined the bail bond was surrendered without just cause.
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
BAIL AMOUNT X 10% = HOW MUCH A TYPICAL BAIL BOND COSTS
$10,000 bail X 10% = $1,000 (How much you pay for the bail bond)
$50,000 bail X 10% = $5,000 (How much you pay for the bail bond)
$100,000 bail X 10% = $10,000 (How much you pay for the bail bond)
